             Artist Statement: 

Both paintings are a part of my “Ghosts of Dementia” series that depict memories

either emerging or receding. Abstract and figurative visual language are used together in an

attempt to occupy that space where either the emergence or regression of a memory is

possible, thus leaving the viewer within the same state of uncertainty, confusion, and fear that

a person who suffers from dementia or Alzheimer’s Disease may feel.
