Keep the character distinctly separate from your own life.
The most compelling performances invite actors to step fully into another person's psychological world. The Boundaries cornerstone supports this process by serving two complementary purposes: it enables actors to enter and leave emotionally demanding roles with intention, while creating a clear distinction between the actor and the character.
Boundaries make deeper character exploration possible. By clearly defining where the actor ends and the character begins, actors can fully commit to psychologically demanding roles without blurring the character's experiences with their own.
The result is greater confidence, clearer characterisation and a sustainable approach to emotionally demanding performance.
