On Thursday, December 12, 2024, the Women in PDE - NL will meet for the first time. The meeting will take place at TU Delft from 10:00-13:30 (including lunch).
This meeting can be seen as a seeding event with the intention of getting to know other women in PDEs working in the Netherlands and to find potential partners for collaborations, joint workshop organizations and so on. It should also be seen as a step towards starting a larger national activity group for PDE and applications (open to all genders).
Schedule:
9:45-10:00: walk-in and coffee
10:00 - 11:00: flash talk presentations of the participants
11:00-11:30: coffee break
11:30 - 12:30: discussion round in small groups
12:30 - 13:30: lunch and closing
The format of the meeting will be quite informal. We suggest to start with a short presentation by everyone (1 slide flash talk, this is me/my research past/present/future), followed by a coffee break, after which we could have discussion rounds in small groups on different topics (such as starting a national PDE activity group, ideas for workshops, increasing the number of female students in PDE courses, etc). Any suggestions for topics are welcome!
If you are interested in presenting yourself but can't make it to the meeting, consider sharing a flash talk slide which we will present during the meeting. After the event we will make all the slides available on this website.
