Overview

Active steering bogie to cut wear and noise on tight curves

Conventional rail vehicles lack steering; curves cause high wear, noise, and dust.
Many domestic routes include tight curves; maintenance cost rises and service quality drops.
Curve running increases angle of attack and lateral force between wheel and rail.
This active steering bogie detects track curvature in real time and steers wheelsets to follow the curve radius.
By combining a steering control algorithm with a steering actuator, it minimizes angle of attack and lateral force to reduce wear and noise.
