We are pleased to announce that the International workshop on “Active and Soft Matter sensing and responsive to its environment” will be held at Kyushu University (Ito campus) on February 28, 2025.
Active matter often has an ability to adapt its dynamics to its perceived environment. For example, for animal systems predators follow prey or, on a smaller length scale, biological cells search for nutrients. Likewise, non-living soft matter, such as polymers, gels, foams or colloids, may respond to external stimuli from their environment in a nonlinear way, leading to transitions between fundamentally different system states.
The aim of the workshop is to share and discuss recent studies on active matter and soft matter, in particular the effect of the environment on their dynamics.
2025/01/31 (Fri): Deadline for the abstract submission for contributed oral and poster presentations
2025/02/14 (Fri): Deadline for the registration without presentations
