The Istituto Statale di Istruzione Superiore Andrea Torrente is located in Casoria, a town not very far from Naples in the south of Italy. Today its educational offer has increased and includes 3 sectors: Professionale Alberghiero (Vocational School specialised in Catering, Tourism and Hospitality), Azienda-Finanza-Marketing (Technical Accounting School) and Tecnico Turistico (Technical School specialised in Tourism).
The staff of our school is composed of 174 teachers of different academic skills and 43 administrative and school assistants. It serves about 1400 students, among whom there are about 130 SEN students. For this reason creating inclusive learning environments for all students is a key goal in our school. It is important to improve inclusion for students’ citizenship, employment, and further study where they will need the skills and understanding to interact and collaborate with diverse individuals and groups.
Casoria is a comune (municipality) in the Metropolitan City of Naples in the Italian region Campania, located about 5 kilometres northeast of Naples. There are about 77.300 inhabitants.
Campania is one of the 20 administrative regions of Italy. It is located on the south-western portion of the Italian Peninsula, with the Tyrrhenian Sea to the west, and also includes the small Phlegraean Islands (Ischia and Procida) and Capri.
The region is home to 10 of the 55 UNESCO sites in Italy, like Pompeii and Herculaneum, the Royal Palace of Caserta, the Amalfi Coast and the Historic Centre of Naples. Moreover, Mount Vesuvius is part of the UNESCO World Network of Biosphere Reserves.
