Pinning your Beret Badge
Step 1: Find the hard part of the beret (it's like a small semicircle thats made of cardboard)
This will be the front of your beret.

Step 2: Make two small holes with a pen-knife from the inside of the beret as shown in the picture. The holes should be as wide apart as the protruding pins of the back of the beret badge.

Seasoning your Beret
Step 1: Lay out beret like this.
Step 2: Pull the hole tight from both ends, to form a slit. When facing the beret from the front, with the beret overturned (like in the picture), beret badge should be on the right side. The beret fold will also be on that side.
Step 3: Fold the side of the beret with the badge over, as shown. Keep the leather rim straight. Ensure the fold begins from above the badge. Ensure that there is a distinct fold, such that part of the beret is folded over the leather rim
Step 4: To finish, fold the other side up, and place beret under a heavy object such as a stack of books for some time. If your beret is the softer, newer beret, try soaking your beret before folding it.
