JESSICA PARKER

Jess never knew who her father was, from what her mom told her, he was just a guy she hooked up with one night. Her mom constantly reminding her that she was the reason she had two kids to feed when she was struggling. When Jess was four, her mom married Edward. He was a nice enough guy, but made it clear to both Jess and her older brother that they were not his kids. He would look after them, but he wasn't their dad and he didn't want them taking his surname. Something that only solidified two years later when her mom and Edward had a daughter of their own. It never bothered Jess much though, she still loved her mom, she cared for her stepdad and adored her baby sister so much.

High school was rough for Jess in that everyone caught onto the fact that she didn't know who her biological dad was, and she was teased a lot for it. So in her sophomore year she tried out for the girls soccer team to make some friends and with that, high school became a bit more bearable. In '96, in her Senior year, the team won states and qualified for nationals. She wasn't even sure that she had ever seen her mom and stepdad so proud.

When the plane crashed in the wilderness, she had a dislocated shoulder that had to be reset as a result. For the first week, she remained optimistic for rescue, but with each passing day that optimism became less. Her main chore for a while was washing everyone's clothes in the lake as it was easier on her shoulder for the first few weeks. As the weeks dragged into months, she like the others gave into 'It' as food became scarce.

When the Yellowjackets were rescued, she was separated from the group going home as she needed medical care before returning, so managed to avoid the press. Being home was difficult for her to adjust too and she struggled with leaving the house for a while, mainly spending time with her sister. When she was thirty, her younger sister, mom and stepdad were killed in a drunk driver accident leaving Jess to look after her five year old niece who she later adopted.

As her niece is in the same year as Callie Sadecki, Shauna became the only one of the Yellowjackets that Jess kept in contact with though they never discussed what happened in the wilderness. Jess feels stuck in the past in some ways, like 'It' never really let them leave and that paranoia only amplified when the whole blackmailing went down.
