Sold at the age of 5 alongside his mother to a cult leader called The Sinister Minister by his biological father, Kansas hold only resentment for the man trying to erase him from the world for being a product of his affair. For 6 years, he was held in the basement with another boy, Constantine and girl called Eisley. Together you grew up under the watchful eye of the Mothers who were the women of the church.
Between them, Kansas and Constantine had read all the Minster's scriptures, and knew what was coming though they hide if from Eisley. At the age of 11, when Eisley got her first period and the Minister decided it was now time to complete the ritual now that she was a 'woman'. Kansas watched as she was told to choose one boy to marry and one boy to kill and if she didn't choose, the choice would be made for her. Unable to choose between the boys who meant the world to her (and she to them), the Minister chose Constantine for her to marry.
After the vows that they were all to young to understand, Constantine distracted the Minister allowing Eisley and Kansas to run and escape.
10 years later, Kansas is in college, unable to settle in any relationship that isn't Eisley who saved herself for Constantine. Until Constantine came for him. He's still close with Eisley who works as a cam girl / influencer, in the town they escaped too. He visits as often as he can. When a film crew come to town to do a documentary on The Sinister Minister, Eisley's rich kids friends start showing up dead.
