A light fae warrior for the Ash, Cassian is different to most of the Illyrian Fae who end up joining the Dark Fae. However, he had seen the cruelty of the Dark as he was growing up and chose the light as soon as he was able.

A member of the Witchfather's Unit, Cassian had been taken from his mother as a child by a cruel father who believed that the Witches should be a patriarchy instead of a matriarchy. His father didn't want him either, so Cassian grew up as an orphan until taken in by a powerful witch couple, raised alongside their son Rhysand. When they came of age, they did their duty joining the Witch Army and are under the Witchfather's command.
