A couple kids!
Well, that's what it felt like when we first started.
After graduating, our classmates and peers found ourselves in a situation where we needed something to focus our passions and creativity in so we could continue to grow as artists while the industry at the time was tricky to break into. Gathering together, we decided we'd make a short film fueled only from our passion, there was no money to throw around. When we were able to obtain a spot beta testing a new media management program, we were asked what our group was called. As we brainstormed ideas of what to call ourselves, someone said we are simply just a couple kids, and it stuck!
Our film SnowBugs, has been accepted and shown in over 30 film festivals across the globe and won several awards!
You can see what festivals we've been able to be a part of and the upcoming ones here, as well as the awards we've been granted!
Where is the ACK! crew based?
We all work together remotely across the world! The majority of us met at the Savannah College of Art and Design, and have since moved across the country, but we are resilient and won't let the distance stop our creative minds from growing!
Did you host a crowdfunding campaign for SnowBugs?
Yes! We launched a crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo in November-December 2024! We exceeded our goal of $2,400, raising $2,549 total! Funds for this covered the costs of rendering the film (using powerful remote computers to create high-quality images of our film). The remaining funds have been put towards film festival fees. You can view our campaign here.
We will be crowdfunding again for our next film!
