Alzheimer’s Project of Tallahassee

Trains and coordinates volunteers who provide relief to the caregivers of persons in the Tallahassee community who suffer from Alzheimer’s disease.

Big Bend Cares

Big Bend Cares is a non-profit organization which provides education and comprehensive support to people who are infected with or affected by HIV/AIDS. Big Bend Cares serves the eight counties of the Big Bend.

Big Bend Homeless Coalition

The Big Bend Homeless Coalition works to end veteran, chronic, and family homelessness by providing emergency shelter, housing, homeless prevention, and rapid rehousing services to over 1200 people every year.

Child Advocates 2

Established in 1986, Child Advocates II, Inc., a not-for-profit corporation, raises money to help children who have been abused, abandoned or neglected in Florida's Leon, Franklin, Gadsden, Wakulla, Jefferson and Liberty Counties.

Works with partners to eradicate hunger and poverty and to promote peace and justice around the world. Together we reach out to neighbors in need near and far--not with a hand out, but a hand up.

Community Carbon Fund of Sustainable Tallahassee

Contributions to the Community Carbon Fund are used to help local nonprofit organizations lower energy use and reduce GHG emissions by improving and retrofitting their facilities. Several initiatives undertaken have funded or facilitated energy efficiency projects at organizations that serve the poor.

Damayan Garden Project

A small non-profit who want to enhance the quality of life in our community by teaching people how to grow their own food. We go into schoolyards, community centers, and low-income housing communities providing everything needed to establish a raised-bed vegetable garden. In addition to providing soil, compost, plants, seeds, stakes, trellises, and frames, we also ffer hands-on instruction while new gardeners are mastering their skills.

ECHO - Emergency Care and Help Organization

ECHO Outreach Ministries puts faith into action by: 1) Providing emergency food, furniture, clothes, hygiene and household items to anyone with demonstrated need. 2) Offers temporary shelter for homeless families. 3) Serves weekend noon-day meals for the homeless and hungry in downtown Tallahassee.

Elder Care Services

Is the definitive source of information on aging issues and services, and acting as an advocate for seniors. Finds resources and solutions for unmet needs in our community, serving over 11,000 seniors and their families.

Florida United Methodist Children's Home

Provides a place where children are safe and loved; where youth are given the opportunity to be healthy, self-sufficient adults; where families become strong; and where every person is treated as a unique creation of God.

Grace Mission Episcopal Church

Grace Mission helps reach those who are often forgotten in society: the homeless, poor, underemployed, addicted, people with AIDs. Whether through our feeding program, worship services, outreaches, after-school program, Bible Study, and many others, we try to extend grace upon grace to all people.

Haiti Parish Twinning Program

St. Thomas More parishioners has provided support for the St. Elisabeth parish for: teacher salaries in the parish and chapel schools, construction of a new church, construction of a new school, construction of a dispensary (clinic), roof repairs for the chapel schools, and medical supplies.

Heifer International

Heifer International is a global nonprofit with the goal of ending poverty and hunger in a sustainable fashion. Established in 1944, Heifer International gives out gifts of livestock, seeds and trees and extensive training to those in need. Recipients are then asked to pass along the first born of the livestock to another hungry family and train them in animal husbandry.

Kindred Spirits Charitable Trust

Kindred Spirits is an all volunteer organization that since 1991 has been providing friendship and support to the most abandoned of God's children: prisoners under sentence of death.

Literacy Volunteers of Leon County, Inc.

Provides 1-on-1 private, confidential basic reading and pre-GED skills to adults with low literacy skills, English language tutoring to adult Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), and after school tutoring for grades K-12.

Lutheran Social Services

Lutheran Social Services of North Florida’s mission is to develop, fund, implement, and administer programs to address the unmet social services needs of the low-income residents in our community. That mission is served by three programs: Better Angels Senior Housing (limited income housing for seniors), Computer Refurbishing and Technical Assistance, ( refurbished computers for low - income individuals and families so they can overcome the Digital Divide) and the KidSafe child safety seat distribution program.

Porch de Salomon

One of Central America’s most progressive Jesus-based ministries, Porch de Salomon serves, laughs, walks, and cries with indigenous, Ladinos and expatriates in Panajachel, Guatemala. We provide:

* Housing (57 new houses) to indigenous families and short-term teams

* Year round humanitarian relief; food, shelter, medical care, surgery, substance-abuse rehabilitation, and more

* Hope and help through our Solomon’s Porch/Hotel California ministry facility, including a weekly worship gathering and our live music outreach

* A spirit of transformation to individuals and our partner churches

Returned Peace Corps Volunteers of North Florida

Raises funds for support of specific projects through Peace Corps Partnership. Volunteers living in the community put together a collaborative proposal with the individuals from the community. All proceeds (100%) go to support these projects an focus on basic needs.

The Kearney Center

Treatment Resources Education for Animals in Temporary Shelter (TREATS)
