Welcome to SAC 2024
The 39th ACM/SIGAPP Symposium On Applied Computing
Avila, Spain
Software Platforms
The technical track on Software Platforms (SP) of the ACM/SIGAPP Symposium on Applied Computing (SAC 2024) will be held in Avila, Spain
Track Chairs : Jinman Jung (jmjung@inha.ac.kr), and Joonhyouk Jang (jhjang@hnu.kr)
Scope
This track aims to share research results and experiences in Software Platforms field with researchers and developers. The software platforms are in a constant state of change with new devices and technologies introduced almost every day. As a result, software platform developers and researchers continue to evolve software technologies that are used for increasing mobile conversions and enhancing relationships among users. The structure of software systems involves working with a wide variety of software platforms and technologies from embedded devices and smart-phones on the low end, to enterprise and distributed systems on the high end. Many research questions remain open from limited battery to remote access control, interaction with external devices, assurance in quality of service, context-aware adaptation to the environment, interface modeling or other issues (security and privacy problems) that are obstacles to thrive software platform technologies. This track will address all of these research issues related to software platforms.
Major topics of interest include but are not limited to the following:
Convergence Technologies for Embedded Systems
Technologies for vehicular cloud computing
Enhanced Services for Smart Environments
Software Platforms in Smart Environments
Open-source software (OSS)
Software platforms for Mobile and Handheld Devices
Software Framework for Mobile Commerce

Paper Submission
Authors are invited to submit original papers in all areas of experimental computing and application development for the technical program via the Software Platforms track hosted by SAC 2023. Submissions fall into the following categories:
Original and unpublished research work
Reports of innovative computing applications in the arts, sciences, engineering, and business areas
Reports of successful technology transfer to new problem domains
Reports of industrial experience and demos of new innovative systems
The file format should be in PDF. The author(s) name(s) and address(es) must not appear in the body of the paper, and self-reference should be in the third person. All papers will be fully refereed and undergo a double blind review process by at least three referees.
Prospective papers should be submitted to the track using the START submission system. Submission of the same paper to multiple tracks is not allowed. For more information please visit SAC 2023 Website
SAC No-Show Policy
Paper registration is required, allowing the inclusion of the papers and posters in the conference proceedings. An author or a proxy attending SAC MUST present the paper. This is a requirement for all accepted papers, posters, and invited SRC submissions to be included in the ACM digital library. No-show of scheduled papers, posters, and student research abstracts will result in excluding them from the ACM digital library.
Authors who cannot make on-site presentations due to travel restrictions by governments or institutions, or those for whom travel is inadvisable due to medical reasons may request to present their materials online.
"A new ACM proceedings template was released recently with the following changes:
1. references are in APA style
2. from 2nd page and on, a header is there having conference location (on left) and first author's last name on right (similar to journal articles)
All camera-ready submission should use the new template, which can be downloaded from https://www.sigapp.org/sac/sac2024/downloads.html."
