The in-class children were noticing different shapes of the loose parts in the room one day. Another day when we were working on journals, some explorers were voicing frustration when their drawings did not turn out how they wanted them to.
During a group time, we brought out clipboards and the loose parts. Explorers started drawing the shapes they noticed. These shapes made them think of other things that they wanted to draw as well.
