Siljan runt - cycling event and race June 1, 2019
Atlas Copco IF will again participate in the cycling event Siljan runt, which takes place on Saturday, June 1 this year. Siljan runt is a very nice cycling race around Lake Siljan and Orsasjön in the beautiful environment of Dalecarlia (Dalarna). There are three different distances to choose between. Most people cycle the longest race, which is 160 km.
Atlas Copco IF will cover the costs for the hotel in Mora, food and participants’ starting fee to join Siljan runt.
The travel to and from Dalarna is coordinated by the participants. Those who volunteer to drive are reimbursed for the fuel costs by the passengers in their car.
As the race takes place on Saturday, 1 June, participants will travel to Mora sometime after lunch on Friday.
Today the website of Siljan Runt shows it is 67 percent fully booked, which means that the race can become full soon.
Those interested in participating should send an email to email@example.com and he will take care of registration and hotel booking. Please state your personal identity number (ID number) in the mail. Registration is binding. The number of places is limited and should the places available for ACIF become over-booked, a drawing will be held to determine who gets a place.
Step Competition 2019 begins!
Spring is here and it’s time to get outside and get moving – perfect timing for the annual step contest. It’s easy – just nominate a team leader (or volunteer to be one), gather 6-8 more colleagues in your team, choose a fun team name, register your team in Wellstep and GO!
Sign up begins April 12 and closes April 30. The contest runs week 19 to 22, May 6 to June 2. There are prizes for both the teams and individuals who finish with the most steps, and a prize drawing at the awards ceremony.
Anyone can join a team – even colleagues who are not Atlas Copco IF members. (See below for more info about joining).
- Everything you need to know about team registration and recording your steps and/or your activities is found on the Wellstep site. NOTE: the team leader adds the team member’s names in the app.
- Use your phone or your own step counter to record your steps, or register the amount of time you spent in various physical activities.
- Each team consists of 6-8 people and everyone must be employed at one of the Atlas Copco or Epiroc companies registered in Sickla to participate in the competition.
- You are not allowed to double count your steps. If you register an activity, you report the time you spent on the activity. You cannot add the steps recorded on your step counter for the time during the activity.
- Last day for reporting steps/activities will be June 4 at 23:59:59.
This year’s Safety Day will be on April 29. A Safety Day goal is to raise awareness about training related to health and the work environment. To highlight this in our everyday life at the workplace, we will also include steps for the activity "stå och jobba", standing deskwork, in this year's Step Competition.
The team and individual that collect the most steps have the honor of keeping the trophies until next year. A gift certificate of 5 000 SEK at Yasuragi Hasseludden spa will be awarded in a lottery at the awards ceremony as well as other gift cards and prizes for teams and individuals.
- The employee who earns the most steps and wins the first prize needs to be an Atlas Copco IF member.
- You need to be present on the award ceremony to claim your prize
This year, we want you to share your training experiences online. Post photos from your step contest activities to the Atlas Copco IF photo contest thread, found on our Facebook group. An independent jury will appoint the winners in the categories "best group image" and "best training picture" that will win great prizes from the Fotografiska Museum. Note, participating in the contest means you agree to give all rights to the photos to Atlas Copco IF.
(Keep in mind that you need to ask for approval from your friends and colleagues before publishing images with more people than yourself.)
Water for All challenge
As last year, Atlas Copco Holding will donate to Water for All. Let us join forces and collect steps to raise money for this good cause! For every 1 million steps up to 80 million, 300 SEK will be donated. For every 1 million steps over 80 million, Atlas Copco Holding will donate 1 000 SEK. Last year we collected 108 427 989 steps which resulted in a donation of 52 428 SEK to Water for All!

ACIF hiking trip to Scotland June 6-10
The route along the Fife coastal path passes some of Scotland's most picturesque former fishing villages, miles of golden beaches, attractive woods and nature reserves. It also threads its way through industrial towns such as Kirkcaldy and Leven. History is everywhere, from the winding gear of the former coalyards to ruined castles and the pictish and prehistoric carvings in the Wemyss caves.
About the path: The route follows the coast from Edinburgh to Dundee, and is easy to walk. We do not have to bring a lot to carry – no sleeping bags, sheets or cooking utensils, for instance. We will stop for lunch and fika in the villages and towns we pass, and have dinner nearby the places we stay for the night.
For more information or if you would like to join the hike, send an e-mail to Sofie Waldén, email@example.com. Register your participation by March 1.
If there are more applicants than places, we’ll use a lottery for the places. Don’t purchase any flight tickets now, wait until you know you have a place on the trip.
