Requirements will vary. Some are as easy as opening an account. Others may require specific deposits, "direct deposits" (emphasis on the quotation marks), maintained balances, required time to keep the account open, etc. Click the links for more info. Many of these institutions will run additional promotions periodically, so it can pay to keep the accounts open, especially if there are no fees associated with them.
