I have a new R3-131T with Windows 10:

My Acer portal crashes every time I try to login or create a new user. So I uninstalled, downloaded a new version and reinstalled. Now the program does not start at all ! I can see it in task manager, but nohting happens.

There may have been some corruption with the software causing the crashes. I suggest you remove all ab software and portal and reinstall it. Test each component before installing the next one if installing more than one app.

So, at first I was getting this "Check your display cable"-error constantly. Now it doesn't happen as much and the mixed reality portal allows me to proceed configure the controllers and to centre the headset. As soon as I have centered the headset, the mixed reality portal goes to a white screen, with a random small yellow triangle.

(Initially I reinstalled my GPU drivers because ever since recent windows updates whenever I loaded the portal my screen would go black but that doesn't occur anymore. I've reinstalled my GPU drivers and the hmd works on other PCs/installs of Windows. Reinstalling my PC is not really an option as I have a lot installed on my computer.)

None of those describe what I have or fix the problem and I read all such before posting here. I've rebooted my device plenty times, reinstalled MR, etc. Though what's even stranger is this happens out of random but it's not the HMD. Windows appears to be confusing the screen outputs and causing the GPU to stall regardless of the GPU I do use. My PC worked fine with VR before and my specifications are more than adequate. This seems to be induced by the OS as I've checked that the GPU drivers haven't changed. Resources aren't peaking at all when the freezing occurs, freezing occurs every 2 seconds until the portal is closed.

Hi, I'm using acer aspire A515-56 laptop. Few months back i faced a slow startup issue in Windows 10... It was taking 4-5 min to get in to the login screen... After login system again takes some time to load the desktop completely. I had tried all the online solution for this.. Nothing worked. So decided to update to Windows 11... But still same problem persist... Now it actually takes 7-8 min.. Like 2 min for acer logo screen then 5 - 6 min showing please wait ... Can't find what could be the exact problem.. Tried fixing disk defragmentation and virus scan.. Also disabled all startup apps. Still not getting any changes... Please someone step forward and fix this for me...

Hello after turning on fast start up, i noticed some changes... Before it was 2 min for acer logo and and 7 min for please wait logo and then login screen. But after enabling fast startup the acer logo ran in about 10 sec but after that a black screen came and it ran for 7 min and then to login screen. Literally after enabling fast startup please wait section is replaced by black screen for same amount og time. So i believe there is something loading in that time making this slow startup but i checked the startup apps and all of them are disabled already by me. I have done bios update, disk clean up, Defragmented the disk, cleaned temp files.. Nothing worked. If you got anymore methods to be tried before going to in place upgrade please tell or else will go for in place upgrade . Also one thing to remind is that as i mentioned in the above comment the issue was having in windows 10 as well, i thought an upgrade to Windows 11 would solve the problem. But it didn't

I had a similar problem with my A515-57. What appears to have ultimately solved the problem was to boot into the BIOS, disable secure boot, reboot into windows, then reboot back into the BIOS and re-enable secure boot.

Since I do not have a large enough space to really maximize my movements, although I was able to map it during set-up and subsequently see the boundaries inside the portal, I opted to remain in one spot while using the headset. You can use your mouse to move around and teleport to various locations inside the environment but I found using an Xbox controller was much easier.

I attempted changing the hard drive, changing the power cord, cleaning the computer with air duster, reformating, reinstalling windows, taking out ram sticks and putting them back in and still, this laptop will restart at random, usually before I can get a full reinstall done of windows. It doesn't have time to run hot so I don't see how it is a heating issue. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, I know it is an older laptop, however, I only used it for 2 years since I bought it about 11 years ago brand new, so it hasn't seen much usage.

Sometimes you just need to clear your screen and eliminate the clutter of open app windows. You can minimize all your windows individually, but this can be a very lengthy process depending on the number of open programs. Rather than going through all that work, simply use the Windows Key + M, and you will return to your desktop with all windows minimized. Windows Key + Shift + M will restore all minimized windows, but you must remain on your desktop for this shortcut to work.

The ability to snap open windows and arrange your monitor according to your preferences is beneficial, but what if you could make the process even easier? You can snap your selected window in the corresponding direction by pressing Windows Key + Alt + Up, Down, Left, or Right.

I've been experiencing the black screen of death with cursor everytime i turn on my laptop since yesterday. I was unable to boot to safe mode also. I tried so many solutions but to no avail. However, i found a solution that i thought should work. It instructed me to go to command prompt in windows startup, copy the directories of c:\ and overwrite them on the directories of c:\windows\system32\config\RegBack.

After doing this windows 10 started performing automatic repair every time i turn the laptop on and would go next to the automatic repair screen. An article suggested i go to command prompt from advanced options, type bcdedit and change device partition from \Device\HarddiskVolume2 to c in order to solve the 'Automatic Repair' problem. I did that but didn't solve my problem. So i went ahead of myself, i changed Windows Boot Loader path from windows\system32\winload.efi to windows\system32\winload.exe. Now everytime i turn on the laptop, it just boots to the Acer logo, goes off, boots to the logo again, goes off repeatedly. 2351a5e196
