I usually draw action, and I truly love action. Among the comic projects announced on my main website are Witch’s Pie and Battle Cats, filled with intense fight scenes and bold characters. Even though I’m a girl, I draw action — which might surprise you.
Why I Didn’t Want to Create “Cheap” 18+ Comics
The first thing I struggled with was not wanting my projects to be associated with cheap adult comics featuring exaggerated female bodies without meaning or storyline.
You know the type: a cute stranger — a courier or neighbor — shows up, and there’s a bored, cunning woman waiting. What exactly are people paying for here? I genuinely didn’t understand.
Once, I visited a well-known comic platform with multiple genres and noticed that among their official titles there were uncensored explicit scenes right in the first chapters. It shocked me, because I remember a time when that kind of content wasn’t allowed there.
Has 18+ Comic Content Lost Its Value?
It felt like content in this genre had become completely devalued. Some authors no longer know how to engage readers, so they rely on oversized attention-grabbing visuals from chapter one.
But that wasn’t what I was looking for. I wasn’t searching for scenes — I was searching for ways to portray relationships.
At one point, a studio hired me for consultation and ordered a project following the same philosophy — “big visuals and nothing else.” They eventually chose not to continue working with me, because I insisted on meaning and depth in the story.
Later, through an open analytics platform, I discovered they were spending $5,000 per month on advertising. That’s someone’s salary — or even three salaries.
If someone only wants an explicit scene, why pay for illustrated images when video platforms already exist?
My Philosophy: Adult Comics About Real Relationships
That’s when I realized: I want people to recognize their own relationship struggles — the kind that appear after the first wave of passion.
After all, a “happy ending” doesn’t stop at the wedding night. There’s still life afterward — isn’t there?
My 18+ comic is not just about explicit scenes. It’s about emotional connection, post-passion reality, relationship dynamics, and psychological depth. The story focuses on what happens after desire — not just the moment itself.
