Foliations and Diffeomorphism Groups
CIRM, Luminy, France.
conferences.cirm-math.fr/3082.html
The goal of the conference is to bring together international experts and young researchers working in foliations theory, diffeomorphism groups, 3-manifold topology, bounded cohomology, and 1-dimensional dynamics to share their insights and expertise and to foster collaborations that will lead to progress on important problems in both areas. Furthermore, to navigate the impact of the recent advances in each of these areas on the others, there will be minicourses to introduce young researchers to some of the major recent advances in these areas and there will be problem sessions and informal learning groups to come up with new problems within the scope of current techniques and long term projects between the subfields.

Hot Topics: Life after the Telescope Conjecture
SLMath, 17 Gauss Way, Berkeley, CA 94720.
www.slmath.org/workshops/1103#overview_workshop
In June 2023, Burklund, Hahn, Levy, and Schlank surprised the homotopy theory community when they announced a disproof of Ravenel's Telescope Conjecture, a fundamental problem of homotopy theory which had been open for 40 years and was believed to be out of reach. The disproof of the Telescope Conjecture combines some of the most exciting recent developments in homotopy theory. This includes fundamental work on red-shift phenomena and descent in algebraic K-theory, trace methods based on a novel approach to topological Hochschild and cyclic homology, ambidexterity in chromatic homotopy theory, and more. The workshop will explore this amazing body of work, culminating in its synthesis and ingenious application to disprove the Telescope Conjecture.

AIM workshop: Low-degree polynomial methods in average-case complexity
American Institute of Mathematics, Pasadena, California.
aimath.org/workshops/upcoming/lowdegreecomplexity/
This workshop, sponsored by AIM and the NSF, will be devoted to the study of low-degree polynomials as a restricted class of algorithms for high-dimensional statistical problems. This framework has been gaining popularity as a means to rigorously explain and predict statistical-computational tradeoffs. The workshop will focus both on new applications of the method within statistical inference, as well as potential broader implications for other areas of algorithms and computational complexity.
