This policy explains what information the Abyss Driller mobile game (“the app”, “we”, “us”) handles, why, and the choices you have. We have kept it short because the app collects very little.
No account, no sign-in. We never ask for your name, email address, phone number or any other contact details.
Your game progress stays on your device. Gold, best depth, upgrades, Garage parts, Field Guide entries, daily challenge scores and settings are saved only on your device. We do not run servers and we never receive this data.
Optional ads are provided by Google AdMob. The only data that leaves your device for advertising is what Google’s advertising software collects to show the optional rewarded ads, as described in section 3.
Purchases are handled by Apple. We never see your payment details (section 4).
You are in control. You can decline ad tracking, change your ad consent at any time, and delete all game data by deleting the app.
The app saves the following locally on your device only, using Apple’s standard on-device storage. It is never sent to us or to anyone else:
Game progress: gold, best depth, Workshop upgrade levels, Garage parts and their levels, boss cores, unlocked skins, Field Guide (creatures seen and defeated), number of runs played and gems collected. Used to keep your progress between sessions.
Daily challenge scores (by date). Used to show your best score for each day’s challenge.
Daily ad counter: how many free upgrades you have claimed by watching ads today. Used to apply the daily limit.
Settings: steering sensitivity, joystick dead zone, joystick visibility, haptics and screen shake. Used to remember your preferences.
This data is removed when you delete the app. If you use iCloud or device backups, it may be included in your own backups under Apple’s terms; we have no access to it.
The app offers optional rewarded video ads. You choose to watch one in exchange for a reward:
a fuel refill when you run out of fuel during a run, and
a free Workshop upgrade when you cannot afford it (limited per day).
Ads never interrupt gameplay and are never shown without you tapping to watch one.
These ads are served by Google AdMob through the Google Mobile Ads SDK. To deliver ads, measure them and prevent fraud, Google may collect and process:
Device identifiers, such as the Apple advertising identifier (IDFA) only if you allow tracking (see below), and other identifiers used for frequency capping and fraud prevention
IP address, which may be used to estimate your general location (city or country level, not your precise location)
Device and app information, such as device model, operating system version, language and app version
Ad interactions, such as whether an ad was shown, watched or tapped
Diagnostic information, such as SDK crash and performance data
Google processes this information as described in its own policies:
How Google uses information from apps that use its services: policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites
Google Privacy Policy: policies.google.com/privacy
We do not receive any personal information from Google. AdMob only gives us aggregated reports, such as how many ads were shown and the resulting earnings.
On first launch, iOS asks whether you allow the app to track your activity across other companies’ apps and websites.
If you allow it, Google may use the advertising identifier to show ads that are more relevant to you.
If you decline, the advertising identifier is not shared. You may still see ads, but they will be less personalised.
You can change this at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, the app shows a consent message, provided by Google’s User Messaging Platform, before any ads are requested. You can choose whether Google may use your data for personalised ads. You can review or change your choice at any time in the app under Settings → Privacy choices.
The app offers optional in-app purchases (gold packs, Double Gold and drill skins). All payments are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never receive your name, Apple ID, or payment card details.
When you buy something, Apple confirms the purchase to the app on your device so the item can be delivered, and so that permanent items (Double Gold and skins) can be restored on a new device using “Restore Purchases”. This confirmation stays between your device and Apple; we do not store or receive it. Apple’s privacy policy applies to purchases: apple.com/legal/privacy
The app is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, please contact us and we will help.
On-device game data: until you delete the app.
Advertising data collected by Google: kept by Google according to its own retention policies (see the Google links in section 3).
We do not hold any personal data ourselves, so we have nothing to retain or delete on our side.
Depending on where you live, including under the GDPR (EU/UK) and the CCPA/CPRA (California), you may have rights to access, correct, delete or object to the processing of your personal data, and to withdraw consent at any time.
Because we do not collect or store personal data ourselves, the practical controls are:
Delete game data: delete the app from your device.
Stop ad tracking: turn off tracking for the app in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
Change ad consent (EEA/UK/Switzerland): in the app, open Settings → Privacy choices.
Data held by Google: manage it at myadcenter.google.com or contact Google through its privacy policy.
California residents: we do not sell your personal information for money. Showing personalised ads through Google may count as “sharing” for cross-context behavioural advertising under California law; you can opt out by declining tracking as described above.
Legal basis (EEA/UK): where personalised advertising is used, we rely on your consent, collected through the consent message in section 3. You can withdraw it at any time.
If you have any questions or want to exercise a right, contact us at the address below.
Game data stays on your device and is protected by your device’s own security. Data sent to Google for advertising is transmitted over encrypted connections, under Google’s security practices.
We may update this policy, for example if we add new features or partners. The effective date at the top shows when it was last changed. Material changes will also be noted in the app’s release notes.
