Abesoft ("we," "our," or "us") operates the ABS Player mobile application. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how data is handled when you use ABS Player.
ABS Player is designed as a local media player. We do not operate external servers to collect, store, or track your personal information, browsing history, or media files.
-Local Storage:** Playback history, resume positions, user interface preferences (subtitle size, language selection, playback speed), and downloaded subtitle files are saved locally on your device's secure storage. This data never leaves your device.
-Media File Access:** ABS Player requests device file permissions solely to discover, index, and play your local video and audio files at your explicit request. We do not read, copy, or transmit your media content to any external party.
-Diagnostics and Crash Logs:** If the application crashes, diagnostic logs may be generated locally by the operating system. We do not automatically transmit these logs to our own servers.
When using network-dependent features, data may be processed by third parties as outlined below:
-a. Advertising (Google AdMob)
To support development, ABS Player integrates the Google AdMob SDK. Even when advertisements are not actively being displayed, the AdMob SDK may automatically collect and process certain device data, including:
-IP address (for general location estimation)
-Device identifiers (such as the Android Advertising ID or AAID)
-App performance metrics and interaction events
This data is handled strictly in accordance with [Google's Privacy Policy](https://policies.google.com/privacy). You can manage or reset your advertising identifiers within your device's Android settings.
-b. Online Subtitle Providers
When you use the app's internal feature to search for subtitles, the text query (typically the video filename) is transmitted to third-party subtitle databases (such as OpenSubtitles) to retrieve matching files. These third-party services operate under their own independent privacy policies.
To function correctly, ABS Player requires the following system permissions:
-READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE / READ_MEDIA_VIDEO:** Required to access and play video files stored on your device.
-INTERNET:** Required to stream online videos via user-provided links and fetch subtitle files.
-FOREGROUND_SERVICE:** Required to maintain continuous, uninterrupted audio/video playback when you minimize the app or turn off the screen.
-POST_NOTIFICATIONS:** Required to display media playback controls (play, pause, skip) inside your system notification drawer.
-VIBRATE:** Used to provide subtle haptic feedback during user interface interactions.
Because all your user preferences and playback states are stored directly on your device, you have total control over your data. You can completely delete all locally stored data, history, and cached subtitle configurations at any time by:
1. Clearing the application cache/data within your Android System Settings.
2. Uninstalling the ABS Player application from your device.
ABS Player does not knowingly collect or solicit personal data from children under the age of 13 (or under 16 in the EEA). If we learn that third-party SDKs have inadvertently collected personal data from a child without verifiable parental consent, we will take immediate steps to ensure that data is deleted from the respective third-party systems.
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our app features or regulatory compliance. Any updates will be published directly on this page with a revised "Effective Date."
