No Higher Authority Needed for Existence: How a Physics of Strain Keeps the Universe Intact

This article introduces Absolute Medium Mechanics (AM) — a new framework built on just eight simple, rock‑solid principles. We’ll show that these eight rules are enough to explain: 

1. The Problem with Empty Space 

Traditional physics imagines space as a passive vacuum — an empty stage where particles and forces perform. But this picture creates deep puzzles:

Absolute Medium Mechanics offers a different answer: the stage itself is not empty. It’s a real, active, dynamic elastic medium — like a cosmic rubber sheet — that can stretch, compress, flow and even tear. Everything we call “matter” is just a stable twist or vortex in this medium. And the medium follows exactly eight rules, no more, no less. 

2. The Eight Rules That Run Reality 

Think of these eight axioms as the “constitution” of the universe. They are not arbitrary; they are the smallest possible set that makes physical sense. Remove any one, and reality collapses into nonsense. 

Rule 1: Scale Invariance (MIP)

There’s a limit to how much information or energy can fit in a given volume. No infinite densities. This is like the pixel resolution of the universe — you can’t pack infinite detail into a finite space. 

Rule 7: No Disappearing Act (CAP) 

Reality never “vanishes.” If a system is pushed to its breaking point (ε = 1), it doesn’t annihilate into nothing. Instead, it instantly transforms into a different, still‑legal configuration. 3. Where Do Stable Things Come From? Auto‑Arrangement, Not Design 

Imagine stirring a cup of coffee. You see swirling vortices appear, stabilize for a moment, then vanish. Now imagine a medium far more elastic and fine‑grained, where certain vortices can last billions of years. That’s the AM picture of matter. 

The medium naturally generates tiny perturbations — random jiggles. Most die instantly. But a few have just enough symmetry to survive the first moment (infant mortality avoidance). Recent academic arguments claim that a “necessary being” must exist because: 

The AM framework dismantles this argument at its root. 

First, within AM, “existence” is not a simple yes/no. It’s a continuous scale: ε from 0 to 1. A system with ε = 0.1 is very stable; with ε = 0.99 is about to transition. There’s no sharp line between “contingent” and “necessary” — only degrees of persistence. So the premise fails. 

Second, the universe as a whole is not “one contingent thing among others.” Because of Rule 7 (CAP), the total admissible state space is closed. The universe cannot cease to exist entirely; it can only change form. That makes it “necessary” in the only meaningful physical sense — without invoking any external being. 

Third, the “design” argument collapses. Symmetry isn’t a gift from a designer; it’s the automatic survival condition of an elastic medium. Asymmetric configurations die immediately. The ones we see are the survivors — that’s all. No intelligence required. 

So a Harvard‑style- mathematical proof works only if you sneak in old, pre‑AM physics (empty space, singularities, binary contingency). Once you adopt the eight rules, the divine necessity disappears. 

5. Parallel Universes Without Magic 

People often imagine parallel universes as entirely separate realities with different laws — maybe where gravity repels or where time runs backward. The AM framework offers a more sober, but still fascinating, picture. 

A “parallel universe” in AM is simply a causally disconnected region of the same elastic medium. How can regions become disconnected? As long as your internal resolution rate RR (healing, repair, coherence) keeps up with the generation rate GG (wear, tear, noise), you persist. When GG exceeds RR for too long, your local ε climbs toward 1, and eventually, your current form undergoes a discrete transition — what we call death. 

But here’s the profound part: because of Rule 7 (CAP), nothing is ever truly annihilated. The energy and pattern that was “you” reorganizes into other admissible configurations. Some of that may be radiation, some heat, some new structures. The universe never loses information; it just recycles. 

This is not reincarnation in a mystical sense — it’s physics. The medium is a perfect accountant: every strain, every twist, every bit of information is preserved forever within the admissible state space. 

9. Conclusion: The Universe Is Its Own Foundation
