Abe's Website
Welcome!
My name is Abraham (Abe) Ng. I am currently Lead Tutor in Mathematics at St Andrew's College within the University of Sydney and a research affiliate of the University of Sydney. Previously, I was a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Wollongong (Australia) under Prof. Aidan Sims.
I am also married to Rachel and have a newborn son Samuel, an awesome nephew Mark, two beautiful nieces Zoe and Emilia and a cat Sima Qian (who is a fat palace eunuch).
As you can see from the pages in the above banner, there are a list of M's that you can visit, roughly described as follows:
Main Page - where you are now!
Mathematics - a list of my research interests, papers, and talks, as well as my teaching experience. This is just a segment of my CV really. The 'professional' section of this website.
Myth - I mean here not the unfortunate usage 'myth = fictional', but refer rather to stories with power to explain and to form people both individually and collectively. Sometimes this does include 'fictional' stories, but not in general. Depends what you mean by fiction. In this page, I will mainly put stories I have written, all of which will be 'true', if only you have eyes to see it.
Messiah - I am a follower and worshipper of that strange and compelling pale Galilean from 1st century Roman Judaea and believe him to be the full revelation of who God is and what God is like. As such, this page will contain all things pertaining to my small part in the divine drama, my small role in the greatest story ever told.
Music - I am an amateur cellist (99% amateur and 1% cellist) who finds music to be one of the greatest delights in life. There is good reason, I believe, for God asking that we sing to him. And good reason, I believe, for Tolkien and Lewis to both have singing as the mode of creation in their legendarium. This page contains some of the things I think about when I listen to various pieces of music. Invariably, these thoughts lean either into the realm of fantasy or of theology.
Mores - My reflections on traditions. Honestly, I wrote a wedding reading for some dear friends and, being resistant to starting a Miscellaneous page until I absolutely have to, did not know what to file it under. Let's see if this page ever progresses past a solitary debut post.
Musings - my *BLEURGH* page. The jumble of individual or collective thoughts that I find worth sharing but have not yet properly arranged or fully developed into a coherent product will be spewed here. This page will act as a temporary holding ground.
Magic Portal - a weird and wonderful place where you can, with a single click, be whisked away to other worlds. Check it out!
Message Me - Contact me!
In the future, I hope to add more M's. The next one in my mind is Memes and I expect eventually I shall have to create a Miscellaneous page as well.
Enjoy exploring my website!
