Location: Third Floor, Gallery 344 (On the third floor, walk through the European Art 1100-1500 Medieval to Early Renaissance wing, then turn left to enter Asian Art and continue to the end of the building.)

As you enter the Ceremonial Tearoom space, allow yourself to take in the whole of the space. You are simultaneously observing and participating in a piece of art.
How is this space structured?
In FIMS language, how is the designer trying to INFLUENCE your experience?
On the museum guide provided by the museum they note that "The entire teahouse is made from natural materials such as cedar and bamboo, creating a sense of harmony with nature. [...] The Japanese tea ceremony engages all five senses: you can smell the woodsy scent of the surrounding garden, hear the wind in the trees outside, feel the teabowl and chakin (napkin) in your hands, see a beautiful painting or ceramic pot in the tokonoma (alcove), and taste the hot green tea and sweets."
After going through the space, how were your precious notions and thoughts towards Asian culture validated or altered from your experience?
