Rih-nan Junior High School was established in August 1, 1968. It is located in the north of Da-an River at Rih-nan Area. It features a rural-type school and of a rustic charm in the neighborhood. The first principal was Mr. Ciou tsan-kun and respectively succeded by Mr. Yang Jian-qing, Mr. Wang Jin-ci, Mr. Cai ciou-dong, Mr. Du guei-cong, Mr. Guo Hong-yao, Mr. Li Jian-jhih, and Mr. Shu Fu-nan. Mr. Jheng Ching-pon is the incumbent principal. Now, he is making efforts to enhance the school’s development.
1. In 1968, Mr. Chen ke-ji, the former principal of Da-dau Junior High School was ordered to set up the school and had been assigned to be the preparation director.
2. In July, 1968 ,the provincial government sent Mr. Ciou tsan-kun as the first principal, and he was authorized to formally establish the school in August 1.
3. In August, 1980, Mr. Yang Jian-qing had been assumed the post of the second principal, and after decade of his dedication,he won the admirations of all the teachers and students. In1992,he made a compulsory retirement.
4. In August, 1992, Mr. Wang Jin-ci had been assumed the post of the third principal and in March,1995, Mr. Wang Jin-ci was transferred to Dajia Junior High School.
5. In March, 1995 ,the academic director, Mr. Jiang, yi-en was ordered to be the acting principal.
6. In August, 1995 ,the provincial government sent Mr. Cai ciou-dong ,the principal of Szu-Chen Junior High School to be in charge of our school. In August,1999, He was transferred to Da-dau Junior High School.
7. In August, 1999, principal Mr. Du guei-cong, who came from Miaoli County, was assumed the post of our principal. Then in February,2003, Mr. Du was transferred to Changhua High School.
8. In February, 2003,the academic director, Mr. Jhang cheng-lin was ordered to be the acting headmaster.
9. In August, 2003, Mr. Guo Hong-yao,originally serving in the Education Bureau of Taichung County Government ,was assumed the principle, and in August, 2009, Mr. Guo was transferred to Hou-zong High School.
10. In August, 2009, Mr. Li Jian-jhih ,coming from Ching-Hai Junior High School was assumed the principal, and in 2015,he was transferred to Shuang-wen Junior High School.
11. On December 25, 2010,our school was renamed “Taichung Municipal Rih-nan Junior High School.
12. In August, 2015,Mr. Shu Fu-nan was transferred from Taichung Municipal Hui-wen High School to Rih-nan.and in 2021,he was transferred to Li-Jen Junior High School.
13. In August, 2021,Mr. Jheng Ching-pon was transferred from Taichung Shi- Gang Junior High School to Rih-nan.
I、School Leadership and Management Features
1.The principal sets an example to take the initiative control of the school schedule for the activities to help executives achieve tasks well.
2. According to the principal’s leadership, each executive, teacher and parents have harmonious interactions. Therefore,students’ learning and affairs can move forward and get successful completions.
3.Most Executive leaders are young and dynamic and they are able to succeed in the business they are supposed to do.
4. Teachers always have their professional faith for the teaching and that surely makes the team more prominent than the personal performances.
II、School-based curriculum program is coordinate with the environmental characteristics. Following the vision and the principal’s ideas of running the school,we have combined the local industries with our school bike team to develop the students’ physical strength.
III、“International Education Week” is regarded as an important event in our school. It is held every year. Students can not only broaden their horizons, but also obtain the opportunities to communicate with the foreign students on line.
IV、We have properly planned students’ outdoor activities. For seventh grade,we make a one-day field trip.
For eighth grade,we provide an overnight camp and for nineth grade, we plan a graduation trip.
V、To comply with the policy of zero corporal punishment and encourage teachers assess students’ performance in daily life ,we made the”Students Behavior Correcting and Faults Eliminating” policy. Through their performance at school, service learning, reading reflection, and psychological counseling, students have always made a progress on their behavior.
VI、We set up a system of ranking the roll of class cleaning and discipline and provide the rewards. The rewards inspre all students to fight for their honor and reinforce the class solidarity.
VII、For the special high-care students,the counseling office arranges high-care classes every week and invites the Civil Aid Service For The Youth to do the counseling.
VIII、The team of the school volunteers who are composed of the parents and the teachers helps direct the traffic every morning. The job sharing reduces the burdens of all the administrators and the instructors. Such efforts from the school staff and the parents lead our school to a very good condition.
