Presenting at the AERE Summer Conference, Santa Ana Pueblo, New Mexico – May 2025
I am Badr Aboufarasse, a researcher in applied economics with a Ph.D. from the Bordeaux School of Economics at the University of Bordeaux. My research focuses on the distributional impacts and social acceptability of environmental and climate policies, particularly carbon pricing, subsidy reform, and climate-related social protection. I use a combination of microsimulation modeling, causal inference, and household survey analysis to evaluate public policies in middle-income countries, with a particular interest in China, Morocco, and emerging economies. My broader research interests include environmental economics, fiscal policy, inequality, and behavioral responses to policy interventions.
