ABOUT THE FACILITATOR
Hazel Gludo, is an Indigenous Elder dedicated to preserving the culture, traditions, and craftsmanship of the Kwantlen First Nation for over 25 years. Hazel began working at Fort Langley National Historic Site in 2013, drawn by the cultural significance of cedar weaving in First Nations culture. Hazel explains how her mother taught her to become resilient and proud of who she is after her time in a residential school. By sharing with us her own family history, Hazel teaches us the importance of honouring your roots, reconciliation and celebrating Indigenous heritage.
