ABOUT THE WORKSHOP
Beading is a cultural expression of art, storytelling, and tradition. Come together to learn how to make your own Beaded Poppy to honour the history of Indigenous Veterans. Indigenous Veterans day is November 8th.
(This workshop has an additional subsized cost to assist with cost of materials).
ABOUT THE FACILITATOR
Su Chang (She/Her) is a MĂ©tis educator dedicated to decolonizing classroom spaces through a queer and intersectional lens. As a Two-Spirit/Indigiqueer person, Su brings lived experience with both visible and invisible disabilities to their pedagogy, advocating for a "classroom-as-community" approach that honors diverse bodyminds, neurodivergence, and cultural knowledge. Their teaching practice focuses on land-based learning, disability justice, and nurturing self-acceptance, viewing the intersection of Indigenous pedagogy and disability not as a deficit, but as a unique, gifted perspective on reciprocity and connection.
