Hello! We are a group of local parents, employees and residents working with CulBUG and Cycling UK to support safer and more efficient travel between Abingdon and Culham.
The A415 connects Abingdon with Europa School, Culham Station and Culham Science Campus, and the path alongside is used by many people for walking and cycling. This stretch forms part of the Culham Greenway, identified in Oxfordshire County Council’s Oxford Greenways Phase 2 Report.
Sections of the route — particularly the “Causeway” just east of Abingdon — are narrow, close to busy traffic and do not currently provide a continuous, safe route for walking and cycling. The Causeway is not currently an official cycle path, meaning cyclists — including children and families — may otherwise have to use the busy A415. A safe, separated walking and cycling route would benefit everyone — including motorists — by reducing both traffic and interactions between vehicles and vulnerable road users, including children and families.
With significant development planned in the area, now is an important opportunity to improve this connection. Please complete our short survey to help demonstrate community demand and identify the improvements that would make journeys safer and easier.
