Guests approach a small forest facade with a wood cabin used as the entrance to the interior queue.
Inside the cabin, guests walk through a queue of bigfoot footage like the famous Patterson-Gimlin footage, footsteps and other bigfoot “markings”, as well as various artistic interpretations of bigfoot.
Torn tents, Bigfoot wanted posters, letters and newspapers warning about Bigfoot, and more physical pieces showcase prior expeditions to try and find bigfoot before guests get ready to go on an adventure of their own.
The guests then enter a preshow room where Dakota Wilder, a Bigfoot hunter, comes onto the screen to explain the history of the legendary bigfoot, and how so many people have tried to get clear footage of the legendary beast but have failed to get a clean and clear image. Dakota explains to the guests that this time will be different, and that with the help of the guests, Dakota and her team will finally be able to capture successful footage of Bigfoot.
Dakota is sending guests in large jeeps where each guest will have a flashlight to help them look around through the forest trying to find Bigfoot and shine their flashlights on them for Dakota and her team in the other vehicles to get multiple pictures of Bigfoot. The flashlight system is similar to Monsters Inc. Ride and Go Seek in Tokyo Disneyland where a traditional dark shooting ride has the guns replaced with flashlights to interact with the environment.
Further along, guests exit the cabin into the dark and creepy woods behind the cabin to enter into the loading platform to find a row of jeeps ready for guests to pull out looking for Bigfoot. Guests load into open air jeeps that have 2 rows of 3 seats using the Dynamic Attractions All Terrain Dark Ride vehicle, creating a trackless vehicle that is completely on wheels acting like a real car for next level immersion through the forest.
The ride vehicles peel out of the loading station through a rough patch of terrain complete with a bumpy downhill section and driving through a small creek to get deeper into the forest. The guest vehicles slow down to the first clearing in the forest to see if anything is in the area. Dakota radios in to the guests vehicles, “I see some shadowy figures in this clearing. Shine your flashlights around and see what we can find!” Guests shine their flashlights around the open area shining on various animatronic forest animals in the scene that get activated and “run” away when the light hits them.
“Oh, it’s just a cute little deer. Let’s keep going” says Dakota as the vehicles then pull ahead again through some bumpy terrain and into more clearings.
Guest ride vehicle continues through more clearings trying to find Bigfoot, only to only find more forest animals such as deers, skunks, small foxes, and even the occasional other larger predators such as black bears or cougars. After guests have the opportunity to flash various animals in each scene, Dakota radios in “we still haven’t found ‘em, let’s keep going!” to transition to the next clearing with more and different animals and options for guests to find.
Guests can find certain hidden easter eggs in different forest clearings depending on what they can see and flash at with their flashlights to allow for guests with keen eyes to try and find hidden “targets” to allow for the ride to have re-rideability for guests.
"Oops, wrong beast!", Dakota exclaims as guests keep searching
After going through a few clearings, leaving the last one, there is some noise in the forest around the ride vehicles. “Hold on, I hear something near us” Dakota radios as the ride vehicles slow down. The flashlights pick up some quick movements in the forest before a shadowy highlight can be seen deeper in the forest. “THERE’S BIGFOOT!” Dakota exclaims and the ride vehicles kick into high gear and go through a high-speed section of the attraction. No flashlights are needed as the ride vehicles start tearing through the forest, over broken trees, puddles, and any other terrain that’s stopping the guests from catching up to the legendary Bigfoot.
There he is! Everyone, shine your flashlights!"
Guests all shine their flashlights on the forest to illuminate a large bigfoot animatronic. Bigfoot roars at the guests but Dakota clears any worry as a small net barrier is lifted between the guests and Bigfoot in case Bigfoot gets the wrong idea. Dakota’s team “launches” flares to make a note of the location where Bigfoot was found while multiple camera shutter sound effects can be heard making sure they captured the legendary picture. “We got it! Let’s get out of here!” Dakota cheers as the lights begin to fade on Bigfoot and the ride vehicles peel away one more time to head back towards the original cabin.
Before arriving at the cabin, Dakota can be found in a tented area set up with large computer screens and other technological equipment. “Thanks for all your help today! Because of you, we were able to get great pictures of Bigfoot, like this one!” Dakota excitedly says as she pulls up a blurry picture of Bigfoot on the screen. “Wait, that’s not right. It shouldn’t be blurry. Here’s the next one!” Another blurry Bigfoot picture appears, then another, and another” before an exhausted Dakota gives up “Well somehow, not a single picture appears to be clear… But thanks to you, we know we can find him again to take more great pictures. Thank you!"
And with that, the ride vehicles pull back into the loading platform and guests exit through a Bigfoot-themed gift shop.
