My name is Abidha Vadakkini Purakkal, but I usually go by Abidha. I am an Assistant Professor at the National Institute of Technology Calicut, where I specialize in theoretical computer science. My primary research interests lie in graph theory, computational geometry, and parameterized algorithms.
I hold a PhD in Computer Science from IIIT Bangalore, where my research, under the guidance of Dr. Pradeesha Ashok, focused on algorithms for geometric separability, graph coloring, and optimization problems. Following my doctorate, I undertook postdoctoral research at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST), working on pathfinding in the Lightning Network and blockchain-related graph problems under the mentorship of Dr. Mordecai Golin and Dr. Amir Goharshady.
Prior to joining as an Assistant Professor at NIT calicut, I served as an Assistant Professor at Indian Institute of Information Technology, Design and Manufacturing, Kurnool, RV University, Bangalore. My academic journey has been shaped by my passion for tackling complex problems in theoretical computer science, and I continue to explore new challenges in this field.
