What is Abide?

Abide is a small group ministry hosted by ELCA Young Adults. Young adults can register to be placed into a weekly, virtual small group led by a young adult Small Group Leader. Groups meet via video call for approximately an hour over the course of a month (1 month). These groups will be centered around a specific topic and participants may choose one of three topics each month.

How can I get involved?

Young Adults can participate in an Abide group by clicking "Register" or lead a group by going to "Group Leader Application" and filling out a Small Group Leader application.

I have a small group and want to participate in Abide with them. Is that possible?

Yes! You might consider registering for a 4-week series together or planning to lead one as a group! As always, our past abide content is GREAT for small groups and plenty of other series like #NoPlasticsForLent, Now is the Time, and Advent Pilgrimage in Palestine are available on our YouTube channel as well.

How are topics picked?

Young Adult Small Group Leaders apply with a topic that they feel passionate leading a small group about! The YA ministry staff team selects 3 topics per month to be chosen as the topics.  If you'd like to talk through a topic idea, please email us at young.adults@elca.org.

Can I suggest a topic?

Yes! If you have ideas for topics or are interested in being a small group leader, writing an #abidein blog, or being in a small group and have further questions, please check out the CONTACT US button at the bottom of this page.
