This is a group activity comprising minimum 3 and maximum 4 children. The students are expected to simulate a real life scenario that demonstrates at least 2 of the BIG emotions. BIG emotions are emotions that when not managed can grow really big and harm us and people around us. Examples of BIG emotions are Joy/Happiness, Sadness, Anger, Disgust and Fear.
Students will be assessed on:
Verbal communication
Greeting
Audible voice
Clarity of spoken words
Pronunciation
Non-Verbal Communication
Body Language
Facial expressions
Intonation
Maintain eye contact: Don't look down, look at your audience
Posture
Have a relaxed posture
Don't slouch. (meaning of Slouch : stand/sit in a lazy way)
Use your hands, move them whenever needed. For example to show thinking, asking question etc.
It's absolutely fine to feel anxious, but remember only you should know you are anxious and nobody else.
Don't appear stressed
Be expressive
Smile :)
Tap the mic and ask "Am I audible?"
When you get a thumbs up or Yes response then one of the student shall say:
Good morning everybody, I __________, __________, ____________, __________ (name of the students) are here to bring forth "<name of the real life scenario, for example exam fear/math anxiety etc.> " through a role play. We cover the emotions Joy, Sadness/ Anger/Disgust/Fear (choose the emotion)
Identify the situation.
Prepare a script.
Assign roles.
Act out the scene.
Conclude by sharing tips to manage the emotions in the situation.
Practice makes perfect.
Stand in front of the mirror and practice.
Record your performance and assess yourself.
Ask your family members to spare time to see you perform and take their feedback.
