I am Abhishek Santhanam, a CSE grad student at the University of California, San Diego aiming to graduate by December 2024. I am currently interning in the bay at a fintech startup named EarnIn. Back at UCSD, I worked under Prof. Jullian Mcauley on sequential recommendation systems and an improvement to the TIGER model.

Prior to my masters, I worked full time as an Applied Research Engineer at LinkedIn in the Trust & Data team improving defense to moderate content in the LinkedIn Platform. 

I completed my bachelors in CSE from IITM in 2022. During my undergrad, I interned at Amazon as an Applied Scientist in the music technologies team and at microsoft in the supply chain foundations team. I also lead the AI/ML team of the Logistics Innovation Lab guided by Prof. Narayanaswamy and completed my bachelor's thesis under Prof. Krishnan Balasubramanian in the field of Creativity in AI (Specifically NLP).  

During my school times, I started off as a professional cricketer (Captained the Chennai City team) and balanced a decent academic record until my 8th grade, post 8th grade, I was among one of the top students in Science and Mathematics in the nation. 

In college, I continued to pursue my passion for Mathematics through Computer Science, and at the same time, I pursued various hobbies such as teaching, cricket, and binge-watching.
