Abhijit Chakraborty

I am an assistant professor at the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research (IISER) Tirupati, Tirupati India. I am also a visiting scientist at RIKEN Interdisciplinary Theoretical and Mathematical Sciences Program,  Wako, Saitama, Japan.

My research interests are complex networks, large-scale economic networks and statistical physics. 

I conducted my Ph.D. research on the statistical mechanics of complex networks at the Department of Theoretical Physics, Satyendra Nath Bose National Centre for Basic Sciences, Kolkata (2008-2014). I pursued postdoctoral research at the Institute of Mathematical Sciences, Chennai (October 2014 - October 2016); University of Hyogo, Kobe, Japan (November 2016 - February 2020); International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA), Laxenburg, Austria (March 2020 - January 2021); and Complexity Science Hub Vienna, Vienna, Austria (February 2021 - December 2021). From December 2021 to March 2024, I served as an assistant professor at the Graduate School of Advanced Integrated Studies in Human Survivability, Kyoto University, Japan. I have now joined IISER-Tirupati from April 2024 onwards.
