I am originally from Tel Aviv, Israel. I currently live in Philadelphia with my wife Sarah and our cat Lloyd. i work as a researcher and project coordinator at the Center for Public Health Law Research where my main focus is housing equity. In Philadelphia I'm involved in local activism around issues of racial and economic justice.
Before moving to the United States, I worked as a medic, trainer, and volunteer coordinator for Israel’s emergency medical services. Following this line of work, I worked in Mongolia and Haiti (where I met my wife!). In 2013, I moved to New York City to study economics at Hunter College and to live with my wife who was in medical school in NYC at the time. I graduated salutatorian of the class of 2016 with both BA and MA degrees in economics, with minors in math and public policy. I wrote a MA thesis, titled “Stop and Frisk Redux: Analysis of Racial Bias in New York City” and presented this work at conferences such as APPAM and PAA.
I write on Israel/Palestine, race in America, criminal justice, and housing. My writing has appeared in the Huffington Post, Salon, the Christian Science Monitor, the Philadelphia Inquirer, WHYY NewsWorks, the Forward, +972 Magazine, and elsewhere.
