Positive psychology is the study of well-being and health. Traditionally, the study of psychology was focused on dysfunction and mental illness. The formal study of positive psychology today is focused on the development of health, well-being, the ability to flourish, and how to be happy. The following are resources, research, and activities to assist you in developing an understanding and strategies to maintain your livelihood, overcome the challenges that we are currently facing, and to maintain a positive outlook on life. There is overwhelming research showing how important it is to build and maintain an optimistic attitude.
The social distancing that we are now experiencing provides us an opportunity to consciously evaluate our attitudes and behaviors and to determine which strategies and interventions will help us to build resilience, stability, and grit. I am including some positive psychology resources and websites that you can visit and take advantage of.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns about any of this information. Of course, I am also available to provide counseling services. -Susan
