It is said that in the beginning, when Creator was forming Earth and its inhabitants, he paid special attention to creating humans. At first, humans were made of stone with no heart. They walked the Earth without care for their wake, leaving behind environmental destruction.
This deeply upset Creator. He shook the Earth, scattering the stone people across the land and shattering them to pieces. The shaking tumbled the pieces down mountains, with such force as to spilt open the Earth itself. Quietness returned after the stone people, with the remains left as an omen of the power to destroy.
One of these pieces was visible as a boulder wedged between two walls of the chasm. However, in 1833 the boulder was swept away by a vicious storm never to be seen again. This same storm created what is now known as Avalanche Falls
