Microsoft Teams is an online application that enables people to see and hear each other. People can talk, work together, share documents, and share their screen. Each person can mute their microphone and turn on or off their camera. Microsoft Teams has been widely used to connect with learners in Ireland especially during the Covid 19 pandemic. With students not being able to meet face to face, it provides an online forum where at least people can see and talk to each other. Students can discuss progress, share their screen, edit files together, add notes, weblinks and apps through a text function called "Chat" while in a Teams meeting.
You need a Microsoft 365 account to use it. You schedule a meeting and invite people to the meeting through their email addresses. If they accept, says they will go to the meeting it will appear in their Teams calendar with a "Join" link you click on at the meeting time.
