BASKETBALL SKILLS

Setup/Equipment:

​Basketball, Hoop


Objective: Students will continue to practice the skills we have been working on in PE class by completing different activities


Activity:

  • We have practiced dribbling, shooting, passing in PE class. Students can use those skills and cues to complete any of the following activities

    • ​PIG- Alternate turns with opponent(s) trying to make each shot that the person before you makes. If you miss a shot that was made you receive a letter.

    • Dribbling- Simply practice the different types of dribbling we have practiced in class (right hand, left hand, crossover, etc.). Follow the cues *eyes up, waist high, finger pads*

    • Make it Take it- Take turns shooting and rebounding for one another. If shooter makes it they get the ball back

    • Knockout- Play any of the types of knockout we have played in class with a small group (memory, elimination, bounce-bounce-tap)

  • Spend 20-25 minutes completing any or all of these activities.

Modifications:

  • If unable to go outside, you could play with a small ball or paper ball and trash can inside the house

  • Feel free to perform other basketball activities that you may know
