Ashutosh Balakrishnan (Member, IEEE) received his Ph. D. degree in Electrical Engineering jointly from I.I.T. Delhi, India and N.Y.C.U. Taiwan in July 2024. Prior to that he received the B. Tech. (Hons.) degree in Electronics and Telecommunication engineering from the N.I.T. Raipur, India, in 2019.
Dr. Balakrishnan is currently a Maître de Conférences (Assistant professor), at the Dept. of Computer Science and Networks, Télécom Paris, France. He is also an associate member of LINCS, France, and a visiting researcher at INRIA Paris. Previously (Sept. 2024 - Aug. 2025), he was a post-doctoral fellow at Télécom Paris, France.
His research interests broadly pertain to analytical modeling based system design and performance evaluation of stochastic networks. Current research directions include low earth orbit satellite networks, joint communication & sensing, non-terrestrial networks, distributed energy systems, sustainability, and renewable energy based green future network design for upcoming 6G communications.
Dr. Balakrishnan has been a recipient of the Prime Minister’s Research Fellowship, Govt. of India; IEEE ComSoc student travel grant (twice); the Best Journal Award, ICST, NYCU Taiwan (2022); and the Innovation Excellence Award, COMSNETS (2024).
