Ayreena Bakhtawar

I am an Assistant Professor at the  Institute of Mathematics Polish Academy of Sciences (IM PAN)  and I am a member of   IM PAN Dynamical System Group.  My mentor is Feliks Przytycki.

Previously, I was a Junior visitor at the Centro di Ricerca Matematica Ennio De Giorgi, Scuola Normale Superiore, Pisa,  Italy, under the supervision of Stefano Marmi.

Before that, I was a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the University of New South Wales Sydney, Australia, under the supervision of John Roberts and  Alina Ostafe.

I hold an Adjunct Research Fellow status at the Department of Mathematics and Statistics, La Trobe University,  Australia.

Research Interests

Diophantine approximation, fractal geometry, Ergodic Theory and Dynamical Systems

I am interested in exploring the Hausdorff dimension theory of fractals and the ergodic theory of dynamical systems that comes from various versions of continued fractions. My research also investigates  the connection between the continued fractions and Diophantine approximation.
