Tlaxcala

Mapas que fueron presentados junto con obra de José Herrera gracias a una residencia otorgada por Somossierra Lab en Munive Arte Contemporáneo. 

Tras una revisión de archivos históricos de Tlaxcala, me sentí atraída por los mapas antiguos y las representaciones que en el pasado se hacían en relación a los pueblos y a los espacios importantes de la ciudad. Retome algunas de esas cartografías y las empalme con el mapa digital actual de la ciudad, con el fin de presentar el mismo espacio pero con distintas representaciones espaciales a diferentes tiempos. 

Maps that were presented together with José Herrera's work thanks to an art residency granted by Somossierra Lab at Munive Arte Contemporáneo.

After a review of the historical archives of Tlaxcala, I felt interested by the old maps and the representations that were made in the past in relation to the towns and important spaces of the city. I took up some of those cartographies and combined them with the current digital map of the city, in order to present the same space but with different spatial representations at different times.
