Leave Management Module

• This module is a part of a consultancy project called EOI that aimed at bringing various activities of Establishment and Accounts of section of NITK into IRIS.

• The Leave Module deals with managing employee leave and related activities.

• It was one of the most challenging modules to work with due to the innate nature of user requirements being complex and took almost a months time to understand them and then further ideate on the module.

• The users associated with these modules include teaching and non-teaching employees and establishment section.

• Based on the requirements, the following three classes of users were created - Requester, Approver and Admin

• The following leave types were covered under this module for all employees - 

  • Earned Leave

  • Casual Leave

  • Vacation Leave

  • Special Casual Leave

  • Maternity Leave

  • Paternity Leave

  • Child Care Leave

  • Restricted Holidays

  • Commuted Leave

• Furthermore, Restricted Holidays and Gazetted Holidays were also handled.

• This module has 22K+ hits with the user-base of 600 employees, both academic and non-academic staff included.
