MARVEL Junior Retreat 2018

July 17th - July 20th

It is time for the fourth annual MARVEL Junior Retreat. The retreat is a unique chance for junior scientists under the umbrella of MARVEL to get to know each other, to learn --in a relaxed, informal atmosphere-- and to foster collaborations across interdisciplinary groups. All this is set within the beautiful scenery of the Swiss Alps. "If you are PhD student or PostDoc affiliated with MARVEL, you are expected to register. Do not miss this chance to attend the retreat and register now. This year the program will include a nice roster of invited speakers and interactive talks. Among other activities, we plan to go hiking, engage in team-challenge problems and more! join us and enjoy the retreat!

This year's retreat will take place in the village of Fieschertal. Located in the eastern part of the canton of Valais, its main lure is the proximity to the iconic Aletsch glacier. A trip to the landmark is, of course, on the agenda. Participants will be accommodated in Hotel Alpenblick in Fieschertal. You can find more information about the venue (and how to get there) here.

The MARVEL Junior Retreat 2018 brings together young researchers from physics, chemistry and material science research groups working within the Swiss National Science Foundation's National Centre of Competence in Research on "Materials' Revolution: Computational Design and Discovery of Novel Materials" (NCCR MARVEL).
