The Manchester Research Students’ Conference is an annual one day conference organised by PhD students. It is a great way to meet your peers and other incoming first year students. Throughout the day, there will be several 30 minute talks alongside a poster session. There will also be free lunch provided along with two coffee breaks to provide a good opportunity for networking and meeting PhD students from different years and disciplines. After, we shall attend the pub.
The talks will be given by current PhD students in the mathematics department from many disciplines including, but not limited to: mathematical logic, algebra, dynamics, numerical analysis, fluid dynamics, mathematical modelling, statistics and probability. We further encourage that these talks are accessible to those in other disciplines as well as their own.
The conference will take place on the 26th of September 2025, and will run from 9:30 - 17:15 in the Alan Turing Building. You can find the timetable in the booklet attached below.
