What is an Elevator Pitch?

An Elevator Pitch is a 60 to 90 second persuasive speech about your innovation, invention, or research project; the intention is to convince a venture capitalist to invest in your project. The goal is to answer the following questions in a clear and concise manner:

  • Who are you?

  • What is your innovation, invention, or research project?

  • What is the importance of this project?

  • What evidence do you have to show that this project will be successful?

Below are three examples from a similar competition from the University of Dayton. Remember you only need to show up with an idea; we'll help you form a pitch!
