Majki Milco Mancevski Cel Film

Majki (Mothers) is a 2010 Macedonian film directed by Milcho Manchevski, who is also the writer and producer. The film consists of three stories that explore the themes of truth, fiction, motherhood, and justice. The film was the Macedonian entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 83rd Academy Awards, but it did not make the final shortlist.

    The first story: Children

The first story follows two nine-year-old girls, Ana and Sandra, who report a flasher to the police even though they never saw him. They do this as a prank, but their lie has serious consequences for a young man who is arrested and accused of being the perpetrator. The girls are pressured by their parents and the police to stick to their story, even though they know it is not true. The story explores the innocence and cruelty of children, as well as the responsibility of adults to protect them.
