How to Get to La Palma
This is general information and might not be up-to-date; please check the relevant sites for the most recent timetables.
There are fairly cheap Naviera Armas ferries from southern Portugal, on which you can bring a car. The route is Portimão - Madeira - Tenerife.
After this, you will need to take ferry from Los Cristianos in Tenerife to Santa Cruz de la Palma, with either Naviera Armas or Fred Olsen.
Please check the links above for the most recent prices and timetables.
There is one airport on the island, Santa Cruz de LaPalma, airport code SPC - do not confuse this with Las Palmas which is the capital of Gran Canaria!
There are regular planes from Madrid by Iberia; Vueling flies from Barcelona; Easyjet flies from London Gatwick (but only for part of the year); there are other airlines flying from various locations to the Canary Islands. There are sometimes offers from Manchester or London by Thompson's or with Norwegian Airlines. (Note that some budget airlines tend not to show up on Google Flights so you may wish to check individual airlines for the best prices.)
The cheapest (and most numerous) options tend to be to Tenerife, and then you can get boat or second flight to Santa Cruz de LaPalma.
Where to Stay In Santa Cruz de La Palma
Many boats arrive late and you may need to spend the night in Santa Cruz. Note that you cannot sleep on the beach. We recommend staying in the Pensión La Cubana for price and convenience.
