I believe in God. And I imagine that – whilst consciousness might be everything, and everything comes from God – God is love, light, and language, and greater than the boundaries of my imagination.
I believe God gives us our talents, free will, and personal responsibility.
My aim is to build a cathedral. I also hope to provide a home with a garden for my family and our friends where we can be happy and at peace with God.
To achieve my aims & objectives, each day I shall -
Be mindful & centred and engaged in a continuing prayer
Be out of bed around 6:00 am
Exercise; attend to hygiene; and listen to the news
Work imaginatively to accomplish the tasks described in my VHC plans
Avoid and abstain from wasteful, negative, and dishonest behaviour
Drink sufficient water - around two litres
Eat a healthy balanced diet of mostly vegan food
Consume produce (such as chocolate and wine) only in moderation
Read in studies and for recreation
Be in bed around 10:00 pm
- except when different rules must or may be observed (for example: on Sabbath days; when travelling; when unwell; or when obliged to be at work for the NHS).
PSALM 23
The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want,
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures,
He leads me beside still waters,
He restores my soul,
He leadeth me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death
I fear no evil, for thou art with me,
Thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies,
Thou anointest my head with oil,
My cup overflows.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life,
And I shall dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.
This statement is a guide (which I regularly evaluate and occasionally amend; and I carry one copy of this in my pocket) and when I fail to follow its guidance then its value only increases.
